The result of being super hot and ultra cool simultaneously. Also fresh.
And flavourful. Love that American word. So advertising-y.
Like rich creamery butter.
Cath Kidston bunting I made for Lily’s room with remnants bought on Ebay. They all slide off, being the indecisive Libran and part anal Virgin ? Virgon? it took me some time to get the combination to my satisfaction. I have about 10-12+ metres of stars, spots and stripes. [Not into her flowers]
Bakelite green scoop, vintage blue plastic, Playskool and stripey spoon.
Vintage Dr Seuss, car boot sale Coffs Harbour [It’s opener there…]
Oh, The Places You’ll Go
Lithograph on paper.
I want this for my daughter’s room so badly. Its $820 unframed. Eek.
I could host my own vintage Tupperware party: just the tip of my ice-coloured-berg.
Vintage swizzle sticks. How cute is the little blue golf club?
Bought all together at Mona Vale Salvo’s. I wonder who collected them? I’m sure they had fun doing it.
Vintage Cocktail forks, you can buy these from my shop. If you fancy a little forking.
The colours are luminous, pastel yet almost neon.
A present from my gorgeous Father In Law, who is nothing like Abe Simpson. Though I wouldn’t mind, I love Grandpa.

Great post! So wonderful how pastels can change your mood and make you instantly happy. 🙂 Maybe it’s the innocence of pastels… like being a kid again. I don’t know, but this made me smile today. The Dr Seuss book may have been the clencher.
P.S. YES, you need that lithograph!!
Thanks Stacey. They are happy colours aren’t they? I think having babies made me appreciate softer tones again, though it does bring back the eighties for me. Boys in pale pink skinny ties etc. And yes you are right, so do need the Places You’ll Go. For now I’ll have to leave the book open on that page in a book stand…
It’s always a pleasure looking through your collection. I especially love the Tupperware!!
Thanks Mandy, I’ll get round to doing a more detailed post on the Tupperware soon, might even organise a crazy vintage Mad Men style Tupperware party [eventually] but not sure I can bring myself to actually sell it.
I generally am not a fan of pastels but thank you for changing my mind damnit…
[…] pastelization – Scroll way down for a picture of a very old commemorative plate the show put out. […]
Hey, you’re welcome Alex, I think, sorry?!
i like the bakelite scoops…great they were included; and the little forks and yes! swizzle sticks – completely love them and especially the blue golf club!
I love everything about this post! I love love pastels but am so sad that I can’t wear them because I too am a shade of pastel 😦 I get completely washed out. But it’s not the end of the world as I can look at pretty pastel photos like yours and still smile!
Thanks Trish, well you do look great in that fab electric blue outfit but just curious about what shade of pastel you say you are? Pinky white? Thats me anyway! I’m loving that melony orange right now even though I probably look like an oversized piece of fruit. Ice blue would work you, for sure :]
