On the Muppet News front:
[I’ve always affectionately called my kids Muppets ‘cos they are so cute and squishy]
Two kids birthdays [5 & 8] in less than a week. All nostalgic. I wish they would stop growing up.
Can’t help rescuing Kermit whenever I find a discarded one. I loved him when I was young.
This is little number 4, which I found today. Sweet serendipity.

The problem is Kermit might need saving from my daughter.
The new school routine is taking its toll. Wearing a uniform day after day is frustrating my spangly colour loving accessory queen.
Sorry, Kermies, you were in the wrong place at the wrong time…
.
Here’s to the lovers, the dreamers and me…
Love this post! I LOVE Kermit. He comforted me many times during my childhood. My sis bought him for me when I was 6 (so.. 1977), and I still have him.
Happy birthday to your beautiful children!
Thanks Kim. You are so lucky to still have him. I didn’t have a cuddly kermit [OMG I would have loved one] but I did have about 13 muppet t-shirts at one point, some of them were big sister hand me downs. I had a mug which got lost somewhere along the line, hence my excitement finding the very cool Kermit news mug. Love your pottery post. Cheers.
My favorite post of yours so far!!! I love your Kermits. I was addicted to The Rainbow Connection song when i was a kid. I listened to it over and over and eventually learned it on the piano.
Kermit looks gorgeous in that little pink dress. Xo
Happy Birthday to your little ones! Yes, they grow way too quickly. I sometimes want to scream at mine to “stop growing up!”
Have a great weekend. 🙂
Thanks so much Mandy. OMG I wish I could play Rainbow Connection. How cool are you? I should learn the Banjo. Probably not so cool… The little pink dress came from some markets and my daughter was so disappointed it didn’t fit any of her dolls. Until there was Kermit… cheers
mmm, kermit under the rainbow and appearing in drag…i’m thinking kermit is coming out. i think lily knows what’s going on. it’s not easy/but environmentally sustainable being green!
Ha! I know. I realised the other day this would have been perfectly timed for Mardi Gras. Poor Kermie, he was always having women/ pig trouble…
ha ha! Kermie all gussied up!
I also loved that song and the muppets: my mom recorded (on an old tape recorder of terrible quality) me playing the rainbow connection on the piano and I skated to it in a local ice skating show 🙂 ha again! 🙂
GREAT POST and a wonderful picture of your daughter.
Thanks Jocelyn, that sounds so gorgeous. I think Kermit represents a real childhood innocence that doesn’t even exist in kids now. I dragged 6 year old Luke to the Muppet movie last year? and he was so ambivalent. I guess 3d animation has really raised expectations. Anyway better get off my soap box. Hope you are well and loving your life with your own squidgy muppet child 🐸
I think Kermit looks like he is quite enjoying his change of attire.
Thanks Jen. I think I might have been in the house of your long lost relative or kindred spirit. Owl ornaments everywhere. In Five Dock. Cheers
