the series of books looks fantastic colour-coded…and i love the bookends. your children will enjoy the best of british titles…i expect luke will be quoting mr twiddle and lily will be the naughtiest girl in school!
Thanks Edwina. We havent been Mr Twiddling yet. Cant get past the name, it wasn’t one I read as a kid, but you could be right about Lily. The writings on the wall…Eek.
Oh dear…HUGE blast from the past. I adored Enid Blyton, particularly the famous five. George was soooo cool. I identified with her because I was such a tomboy.
Yes! I loved the FF. I was the same. George was always my favourite too. And I read a lot of Secret Seven. Only one seems to have survived from my childhood but its not a lovely hardcover like these.
Ahh…these books bring back memories. They look great colour coded too. Surely you aren’t planning on parting with these?
Hey Mandy. Thanks, yes a bit OCD with colour coding. I even did it with the DVDs once. Drove my hubby mental as he preferred to be by genre. I mean what? How predictable. Problem solved now, they are behind white cupboard doors. And no, not selling the lot. Too sentimental. But thanks for asking, as I am selling these, The Wishing Chair set http://urbanrustic.com.au/?wpsc-product=wishing-chair-adventures and the bookends http://urbanrustic.com.au/?wpsc-product=kitten-bookends. In my excitement to get away I didnt get around to listing them. cheers
I still have a few of my Enid Blyton books and one of my mum’s too. My boys have their own set. I love comparing the different cover styles, all vastly different from each other. I love the way you have colour coded your set.
Thanks Jen, some of these are from my childhood but I also went on a bit of a hunt a few years ago for my kids. Especially to find The Wishing Chair and Magic Faraway Tree series. They are the best must admit though I got a shock when reading that Bessie and Fanny [both under 8] had to stay at home and do the ironing in one chapter. My kids would end up at the Emergency ward!
Tee hee!
