Anything that brings Kurt Cobain and Queen Elizabeth onto the same page has to be a source of Jubilation, doesn’t it?
[Her Royal Highness and the Prince of Down-ness]

Its getting into dangerous territory but now I have a [small] collection of souvenir spoons. Some from places I have never seen.

I know, right?
Weird, daggy, a bit urggh. So anyway in Mona Vale Salvos, I found this in a basket . Three for a dollar. I am thinking this was probably the catalyst for someone’s lifetime collection. The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 1953.

Sometimes second hand shopping is sad. Like you are pillaging someone’s birthrite that they don’t even want, but should.

Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld
So I can sigh eternally…

Kurt Cobain, Pennyroyal Tea

so fine…

I spent some time trawling for a quote for everyone, not just the Mothers, regarding unconditional love, in the end my adorable 7 year old said it best. This is the card he made at school. It has a tea bag stapled inside. And the words below.

Dear mum, Happy mothers day
I love you so much because you are my mum and I love you.

Completely appropriately and yet coincidently, this is a present from my equally adorable man.

Read this my dears, and you will see
how to make a nice cup of tea
take teapot to kettle, not t’other way round
and when you hear that whistling sound
pour a little in the pot
just make it nice and hot.
Pour that out and put in the tea,
loose or in bags, your choice, you see.
One bag for each two cups will do
with one extra bag to make a fine brew.
Steep 3-5 minutes then pour a cup.
Then sit right down and drink it up!
